EDOPro: Downloading It & Using a Custom Banlist

This is part of a series of articles on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, written to assist players participating in the Cup of Greed tournament, hosted by Pod of Greed (the only podcast officially sponsored by KaibaCorp).

This is the first in a three-part series on using EDOPro. It goes over how to download EDOPro and how to import the custom banlist we are using for the tournament.

Downloading EDOPro

You can download the latest version of EDOPro from their GitHub, here (you can also get the download link from their Discord server). Make sure to download the right version for your operating system.

By default, EDOPro installs itself directly to the C drive. While you can install it elsewhere (as far as I know), it apparently has issues when installed in system-protected locations, like Program Files. The folder EDOPro gets installed in is called "ProjectIgnis".

Adding a custom banlist

The Cup of Greed 2023 is a 5D's era, TCG-only tournament. It uses the March 2011 banlist, and its card pool includes everything released in the TCG through August 11, 2011 (the day before the TCG debut of Generation Force). CORRECTION: Everything released in the TCG through July 7, 2011 (the day before the TCG debut of Starter Deck: Dawn of the Xyz).

You can download the banlist from the Pod of Greed Discord server. It is part of a pinned message in the #cup-of-greed-2024 channel. Make sure you are using the most up-to-date version! As of 4/21/2024, that is v1.3.

The file is named "5D's CoG 24 v1.3.lflist.conf". Save this file to C:\ProjectIgnis\lflists. You will now be able to use this banlist when editing decks and starting duel rooms.
